Crested Geckos

Crested Geckos Baltimore County Pet Store

Correlophus ciliatus
Distribution: New Caldeonia
Size: 8″-10″

Heating/Lighting:

Daytime: 68-80°F
Nighttime: 60-72°F

UVB lighting can be provided, but is not necessary as Crested Geckos are nocturnal.  If UVB is used, make sure there are plenty of places for your gecko to hide so they are not directly exposed to UV for extended periods of time.

To achieve these temperatures, if your residence is not already warm enough, we recommend using a low wattage red/black light (nocturnal) heat lamp.

Feeding:

A complete fruit mix diet should always be available.  Mango, papaya, and banana can also be offered.

We use and recommend Repashy Crested Gecko Diet (CGD), but alternative complete diets such as Pangea Fruit Mix Complete, Clark’s Diet, and other fruit diets can be used by experienced keepers.

Mix Repashy CGD powder with water to achieve a soupy consistency and place in a shallow dish.  Wash dish and supply more food every 2-3 days or when food gets moldy.

You can also supplement a complete fruit diet with appropriately sized crickets (dusted with calcium powder+vitamin D3), dubia roaches, waxworms, or mealworms (NO Superworms).  Offer as many crickets as can be consumed within 24 hours and remove any excess.  Worms can be placed in a shallow dish and refilled as necessary.

Bedding:

We use and recommend cage carpet or cypress mulch/potting soil mix (chemical-free).
